What’s The Big Deal About The King James Bible?

There are many answers to this loaded question. One thing is for sure- it IS a big deal. Nothing that happened in world news today even compares with it. Nothing will happen tomorrow that will overshadow the importance of this monumental Book. Because that Book is the very words of Almighty God.

There is no more important fact to nail down than this. The devil questioned, “Yea, hath God said…?” (Genesis 3:1) and messed up humanity from the beginning. Unsurity about it still ruins people who have not found the truth. Paul’s intense presentation of Jesus Christ to his wayward people begins in the first sentence of the Epistle to the Hebrews. “God… hath in these last days spoken.” (Hebrews 1:1-2) The King James Bible proves that He wrote it down.

It is certainly worth studying. I have a library with shelves full of defense of the KJV. I love it when someone is interested enough in God’s word to read up on it. If you want a profitable study this year, contact me, and I’ll give you a summer reading list!

Though reading is my first recommendation, there has been some quality work done in video for the King James Bible issue. Pastor Jonathan Marshall, Dr. Sam Gipp, Justin Doty, and Andrew Garcia pooled their talents to make a seven video series that is easy to watch and teaches without seeming tedious.

I highly recommend watching these videos with your family; they will make for great conversation starters. You should also forward them to friends who may be on the fence about the issue. Once you’ve finished the series you should then find someone on the opposite side of the topic and send them the videos. Who knows– maybe watching these scenarios will provoke a change of heart?
